Is provider approval really free?

What is CPE accreditation?
CPE stands for Continuing Professional Education, the structured learning professionals complete each year to maintain licenses and certifications. CPE accreditation means an independent body has reviewed a course against published standards and confirmed it genuinely earns the credit hours awarded.
What is the difference between CPE and CPD?
CPE (Continuing Professional Education) is the credit-hour standard: structured, accredited learning measured in credit hours, usually 50 minutes of instruction per credit. CPD (Continuing Professional Development) is used mainly in the UK, Europe and the Commonwealth, covers informal learning too, and is often self-recorded. If your learners report credit hours, they need CPE.
Who is Alta Professional Accreditation?
APA is an independent accreditation body with providers worldwide for continuing professional education. We set and publish our own CPE standards, review training providers and their courses against them, and authorize approved providers to award CPE credit hours.
Who can become an approved provider?
Any organization that trains professionals: training companies, online course creators, professional associations, employers with in-house programs, consultancies and independent trainers. If you deliver structured learning to professionals, you can apply.
What does course accreditation involve?
For each course we review the learning objectives, content quality, instructor expertise, delivery method and how you verify attendance and completion. We then assign the CPE credit hours the course earns. Accredited courses may display the APA accredited mark.
Can I accredit online and self-paced courses?
Yes. Live in-person workshops, virtual classrooms, webinars and self-paced e-learning can all be accredited, provided completion can be reliably verified.
How are CPE credit hours calculated?
Credit hours follow the widely used international convention of 50 minutes of structured instruction equalling one CPE credit. We confirm the credit value of each course during accreditation.
How long does approval take?
Provider accounts can be created in minutes. Provider review and course accreditation times depend on how complete your submission is, the more detail you give us up front, the faster we can approve you.
What do my learners receive?
Learners who complete your accredited courses receive official CPE certificates showing the credit hours earned, documentation they can use toward their professional requirements.
